SMS Consent Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This page describes exactly how Voxzy collects SMS consent before sending any text message to a customer of a Voxzy-powered trade business.

Consent is explicit and is not required for service

Receiving SMS from Voxzy is entirely optional. A customer can book, receive, and pay for service from any business on Voxzy without agreeing to SMS. SMS consent and the agreement to receive service are two separate decisions.

A trade business can communicate with the customer by phone call, email, or in person if the customer prefers. No feature of Voxzy is gated on SMS consent.

How consent is collected

Consent is collected on the customer's own service request form — never by a worker on the customer's behalf. When a customer opens the request link (which the business shares with them via their own phone, email, or in person), the form includes an unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox. The label reads, verbatim:

Yes, text me about my service from [Business Name]: appointment confirmations, estimate notifications, payment receipts, and an optional review request (typically 2–5 messages per service). Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not required to receive service.

The customer checks the box themselves before submitting the form. When the form is submitted with the box checked, Voxzy stamps the consent timestamp and source on the customer record. A phone number alone, without the checkbox, does not grant consent.

No SMS message is sent to a customer until consent has been recorded by the customer checking the consent box on their service request form. Workers cannot grant SMS consent on a customer's behalf; the platform has no worker-facing opt-in path.

What customers receive (only after opting in)

Customers who opt in receive transactional SMS tied to the specific service they have authorized:

  • Appointment confirmation
  • Estimate-ready notification with a link to review
  • Estimate approval reminders
  • Payment receipts
  • Optional review request after the job is completed

Typical frequency is 2–5 messages per service request. Voxzy sends no marketing or promotional SMS to customers, ever.

Sample message

Hi Sarah, this is Excell Electric. Your panel install is confirmed for Tuesday at 2pm at 1450 Oak Park Lane. View details: https://voxzy.app/j/abc123

Reply STOP to opt out.

This is the first message a customer receives after opting in: a confirmation of the service appointment they booked, from the specific business they booked it with. The first message to every new customer includes “Reply STOP to opt out.” HELP is honored on every message via Twilio.

Opt-out

Customers can reply STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, or QUIT to any message at any time. Twilio acknowledges the opt-out automatically and Voxzy stops sending immediately. Opt-out is honored across all businesses on the platform — once a customer opts out, no business using Voxzy can text them again from a Voxzy-managed number.

Replying HELP returns support contact info. Customers can also email hello@voxzy.app at any time.

Standard message and data rates may apply.

Consent record

Every customer record stores when consent was given, sourced from the customer's own checkbox click on the intake form. Consent is never recorded based on worker attestation or verbal exchange.

Before sending any message, Voxzy verifies that consent is on file and the customer hasn't opted out. Send attempts without consent are skipped and logged for audit; no message is delivered.
